Justice Minister Mulambo Haimbe says access to justice and legal services for vulnerable groups is of utmost importance to the new dawn government’s bid to attain social- economic development.
Speaking during the official opening of a two day GIZ Enact Legal Tech Conference in Lusaka this morning, Mr Haimbe says the 8th national development plan has set out good governance environment as one of the strategic development areas for achieving the vision of enhancing access to justice for the citizens.
Mr Haimbe says access to justice is a prominent feature of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development in the promotion of the rule of law and justice for all.
The Minister says the justice sector still faces challenges in actualizing an integrated case flow management system across the key justice institutions, hence the need for more access to legal aid services by the marginalized.
At the same event, Germany Ambassador to Zambia Anne Wagner says her country is impressed in the strides made by the Zambian government in ensuring that legal services are accessed by all the citizens.
